CVI-UTC Research Exhibited at ITS America 2013

The ITS America 23rd Annual Meeting & Exposition was held from April 22 – 24, 2013 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Nearly 2,000 of the nation’s top transportation officials, business and technology leaders, researchers and policymakers gathered for one of the most important transportation events of the year.

The four-day event showcased innovative technologies and solutions being developed and implemented across the U.S. including connected vehicles, adaptive traffic signals, advanced traffic and incident management systems, electronic tolling and pricing systems, freight management systems, smart mobility apps, and real-time traffic, transit, navigation and parking information.

CVI-UTC researchers displayed an instrumented motorcycle and discussed connected vehicle research at the event (Booth 531). The motorcycle is part of a joint project with VTTI and US Motorcycle Foundation, and was featured in the ITS Daily News publication on April 24, 2013.

CVI-UTC Research On Display at VTTI School Day

About 400 students and 350 locals from all around the New River Valley participated in VTTI’s annual School Day and Open House on April 11, 2013. Participants toured VTTI facilities, including the Smart Road Control Tower, garage, and the Smart Road, and learned about research and technology. 2013 school day 1
